School hours are 8.50am to 3.05pm Monday to Friday in line with our published school calendar. Our office is open from 8.30am to 3.45pm.

Q: How do I enrol my child?

Answer

Simply complete our enrolment form and return it to us with the $40 application fee. You can enrol your child from birth. You can learn more about enrolling, here.

Q: I am moving to or leaving the area. When should I talk with you about my child's enrolment?

Answer

As soon as possible.

If you are leaving us we require one term's notice so please contact us as soon as you know. Unless there are mitigating circumstances we will continue to charge school fees for the equivalent of one term's notice.

Question 4

Q: When will I know if my child has been accepted?

Answer

In the year your child turns 4, you will be invited to attend an enrolment conversation with us. This will usually take place with our Principal or a member of our senior Leadership Team.

Q: Do I need to be Catholic to attend St Augustine's?

Answer

No. Our school is identifiably Catholic which means we welcome families from all walks of life including those from different faith traditions and those who do not identify with a particular belief system.

Q: What are your school fees? Do you offer discounts for financial hardship?

Answer

At St Augustine's, we understand the financial pressures placed on families and we offer a three-tier fee structure. This includes fee support and various discounts to ensure no child is denied a Catholic education because of limited financial resources.

Q: What facilities and services does St Augustine's offer?

Q: What IT equipment do I need to buy for my child?

Answer

You do not need to buy equipment for your child to use at school. All equipment and devices they will need are supplied. You can learn more about the IT provided on this page.

Q: My child needs support. How can you help?

Answer

Talk to your classroom teacher about anything happening at school or at home that you feel may have a bearing on your child's enjoyment of school and capacity to learn.

If you are considering enrolling your child or have enrolled but not yet commenced, please ask to speak to a member of our Leadership Team.

Question 10

Q: What are your class sizes?

Answer

Your child's learning and wellbeing will be a major consideration in class placement and the structure of classes as they move through the Year Levels. You will generally find 20 to 25 students in our Reception and Year 1 classes and 22 to 29 students in the other Year Levels.

Question 11

Q: My child feels bullied - what do I do?

Answer

St Augustine's says no to bullying. Children cannot grow and learn to the best of their ability when they are experiencing emotional trauma. Everyone at St Augustine's is responsible for making sure everyone has the right to feel safe and valued at all times.

If your child feels bullied or is concerned about the wellbeing of someone else, please speak with your child's teacher or ask to speak to a member of our Leadership Team as soon as possible.

Q: Will my child be given homework?

Answer

At St Augustine's we believe homework can have benefits for children in older Year Levels where it is assigned purposefully, is relevant to work in the classroom and results in prompt feedback.

In younger Year Levels, our focus is on learning that is specific to the development of literacy and numeracy skills. These formative years provide an important opportunity for parents and teachers to work together to foster in each child, a love of books and a desire to learn through storytelling and reading experiences. At this age, we believe weekends and school holidays are also best reserved for family time and recreation.

Q: Do you offer out of school hours care?

Answer

Yes. The current hours of operation are 6.30am-8.45am and 3.15pm-6.15pm on normal school days and 6.30am 6.15pm on pupil-free days or during school holidays.
